Beef Goulash

Cooking time: 55 min


  • 1kg beef cubes
  • 30ml oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 30ml flour
  • 15ml smoked paprika
  • 3ml Worcestershire Sauce
  • sage
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 250ml beef stock
  • 1 tin whole tomatoes, chopped
  • 10ml tomato paste
  • 500g potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 1 green pepper, deseeded and chopped
  • salt and pepper


Brown the beef cubes in a sauté pan.
Add the onions and fry off until golden brown.
Add the flour, Worcestershire Sauce, smoked paprika, salt and pepper and cook out.
Add the tomatoes, tomato puree and stock and simmer for 45 minutes.
Sauté the potato cubes and green pepper in a separate pan and add to the pot and allow to simmer for ten additional minutes                                                                                                                         until cooked through. Season with salt and pepper to taste and serve.
